Field trip to Prairie Ronde Savanna & Sauk Indian Trail

Prairie Ronde Savanna & Sauk Indian Trail with John Bagley

Saturday, September 24, 10 AM to 1 PM

John Bagley, the regional stewardship organizer for west Michigan quotes:

“I really enjoy fire-dependent natural communities of all sorts, and am lucky to manage some very nice examples of these in west and southwest Michigan.  This group includes the Prairie Ronde and also Sauk Indian Trail Plant Preserves.  These two small, but special, places never disappoint with the fantastic flora represented there.

I have a bachelor of science in physical anthropology from WMU.  After spending 15 years in the corporate world, I was laid off from a job selling industrial packaging 2008.  I suddenly came across some time to pick back up on a life-long love—education about wildlife and science.  My focus was and is preserving our planet’s biodiversity, and so it was natural that I zeroed in on MNA as the one organization in Michigan whose mission was exactly this, and I became involved when I was laid off.  I have been involved in some capacity ever since and I have been regional stewardship organizer for more than two years”.
