The Kalamazoo River Watershed Council’s mission is to restore and protect the health of the Kalamazoo River, its tributaries, and its watershed by collaborating with the community, government agencies, local officials, and businesses. Join Dr. Douglas McLaughlin, Executive Director, Kalamazoo River Watershed Council to learn more about their activities.
Dr. McLaughlin joined the KRWC board in 2019 and became Executive Director in 2022. Doug has over 30 years of experience as a water resources scientist and practitioner. He is a nationally recognized expert in the science needed to support water quality criteria and standards and has worked on the assessment and clean-up of river sediment polluted from historical paper manufacturing operations. He has also paddled most of the 206-mile St. Joseph River as part of a team identifying and mapping invasive terrestrial and aquatic plant species.
All indoor programs are at the People’s Church, 1758 N 10th St, Kalamazoo, 49009. Socializing begins at 6:30 pm and the programs begin at 7:00 pm. Non-members are always welcome to join us for programs and field trips. Masks are recommended but not required in the church.
