This trip is to a floodplain along the River Raisin in southern Lenawee County. The site is home to a remarkable number of listed and unusual plants. Among these are smooth ruellia, ravenfoot sedge, toadshade, wild hyacinth, woodland lettuce, fox grape, and beakgrass.  Many of the plants are unusual in Michigan because this is their northern limit.  It is also an interesting area to observe the ecological effects of the ash mortality.  It is an easy walk, but boots may be needed. Carpooling from the Briarwood Mall Parking lot, Pole 10, will be coordinated closer to the trip date.
