Meredith Zettlemoyer is a Phd student at MSU’s Kellogg Biological Station. She is broadly interested in biodiversity loss in response to global change, with a focus on drivers of plant extinctions. Using a combination of historical botanical data, trait-based and phylogenetic approaches, demographic models, and field experiments to investigate patterns of species loss, identify traits associated with extinction risk, and evaluate the demographic effects of global changes on locally extinct species. She hopes this work will help us make better predictions of future extinction risk for threatened species.
